A new church experience
Our mission is to spread the gospel
and break the cycle of poverty
by empowering people to achieve
their God-given potential.
In 1973 Sophal was born in Cambodia and as a 3-month old baby abandoned by her parents. A Red Cross nurse found Sophal in a basket on the streets of Phnom Penh. A few months later she took the baby to Switzerland to escape the invasion of the Khmer Rouge.
There, Sophal found a new home with loving parents. Sophal and ND Strupler got married in 1994 and have a daughter and a son now.
Since the founding of ICF Zurich in Switzerland in 1996, ND had been one of the key people in the leadership team. During this time, he served as a youth pastor for 10 years and then trained church planters for the following 7 years. In 2010, family Strupler visited Cambodia for the first time and was extremely touched by Cambodia’s cruel history and its still visible legacy. After a second visit in 2012, they decided to move to Cambodia and start a new church.
ICF Cambodia is the first ICF Movement church in Asia. After the arrival of family Strupler in Siem Reap in August 2013 the church has grown from a handful to over 800 attendees. We celebrated our Grand Opening in September 2014. More than 195 people were already baptised. Every Sunday, we offer celebrations for kids, teenagers and adults. Most of our church family is under the age of 18.
We believe the strength of a church is not in its seating, but in its sending capacity.
